Ollie the Owl pattern

With pride I present my Ollie the Owl

Ollie now has a bonus envelope border for interlocking and mosaic.

Ollie (like Howling Wolf and Flower Doodles) is a medium size project (120 hours). Depending on yarn thickness Ollie can become a bedspread (single), lap throw or wall hanging so Ollie’s size will depend greatly on your chosen yarn. Light fingering yarn will give you a lap throw, DK will give you a bedspread.

As you are used of me Ollie comes in two techniques:
Interlocking filet and Overlay mosaic crochet. Both come with small charts, small inversed chart, written pattern, tutorials and links to examples and video’s. There is also a printable large X chart for overlay mosaic.

Yarn overlay mosaic crochet:
Based on hook 3 mm, US D (lap throw)
Pattern colour A dark 1800 meters, 1950 yards
Light background colour B, total 2000 meters, 2200 yards
Keep in mind when you change your hook size or yarn thickness the blanket needs more or less yarn
Size 120 by 175 cm, 47 by 69 inches, variations happens due to yarn thickness, tension and hook size
231 stitches by 313 rows
Add 300 meters, yards per colour for an envelope border
Based on hook 5mm, US H (single bed cover)
Pattern colour A dark 2800 meters, 3040 yards without border
Light background colour B, total 3500 meters, 3800 yards without border

Size 150 by 210 cm, 60 by 84 inches, variations happens due to yarn thickness, tension and hook size
231 stitches by 313 rows
Add 400 meters, 440 yards per colour for an envelope border

Yarn Interlocking filet Crochet:

Pattern colour A dark 1600 meters, 1750 yards without border
Light background colour B, total 1600 meters, 1750 yards without border

Add 180 meters, yards per colour for a border

Light background colour B, total 2700 meters, 3050 yards without border
